Services for Children Age 5+

Hey! I’m Cailey (she/her) and I am so excited to be a part of the team at The Village YXE. I am a certified professional teacher with a passion for literacy and special education. In 2014, I received my Masters of Education in Educational Psychology and Special Education. I have been supporting learners ages 4-21 in the past ten years as a teacher in Saskatoon, most recently as a resource teacher specializing in reading instruction.

I love the process of figuring out where learners are at and collaborating with other professions such as Occupational Therapy, Speech Language Pathology, and Educational Psychology to create a comprehensive support plan to address your child’s specific needs. Many children need more support than they are able to receive in a regular classroom with increasing class sizes and complexity. Using the Science of Reading methodology and the Five Pillars of Reading Instruction, I am able to provide high-quality 1 on 1 literacy instruction. I am also passionate about offering a neurodiversity affirming, anti-racist, anti-oppressive, and 2SLGBTQIA+ safe space for learning at The Village YXE.

In my personal life, I am a busy mom with two wonderful kids. I am also on an Autism parenting journey with my oldest. I have found the process of accessing supports confusing and I quickly realized I needed a community of parents with similar lived experience. Being on the parent side of the table has definitely furthered my passion for advocacy for parents and kids trying to navigate the system. I want to help others troubleshoot how they can best support their child in the home, school and community. If you’re in it, so am I - let’s connect!

I would love to join your team to determine the next steps in helping your little one. Let’s celebrate and support your child’s unique abilities together.
