Comprehensive Feeding Support for Infants and Pediatrics
Hi! I’m Karlie (she/her), co-owner of The Village YXE, a Speech-Language Pathologist specialized in newborn and infant feeding, Certified Breastfeeding Specialist, and Myofunctional Therapist. I have a passion working with those with oral ties and other oral functional disorders from birth through the lifespan. I completed my Master's degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from the University of Houston and worked for several years in the medical center in Houston, TX before moving back home to Canada. For eight years, I worked at the Royal University Hospital and Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, the Pediatric Unit, and Postpartum Maternal Care Unit until 2023.
Over the course of my career I have assessed and treated thousands of children with diagnoses such as traumatic brain injury, cleft palate, failure to thrive, chronic aspiration, oral ties, and picky eating and do my best to ensure that all of my clients and patients feel supported and safe along their feeding journey no matter how complex it may be. I have collaborated with, and continue to collaborate with other professionals including dietitians, lactation consultants, physicians, surgeons, otolaryngologists, pediatricians, and more.
I am also a mom of two young boys and have experienced firsthand the lack of guidance, support, and education that surrounds feeding. New Moms enter into motherhood not truly knowing what to expect or how to tackle feeding struggles along the way. Because of this, I opened up my own private practice, Karlie Hudon SLP, in 2021 and have become known as an expert in the province on infant feeding and oral ties. In addition to my practice I run a prenatal feeding program, The Prepped Parent, which helps to prepare expecting parents for what to expect along their feeding journeys. Whether that journey is breastfeeding, formula feeding, pumping and bottle feeding, or a combination, I am on a mission to help expecting parents feel more calm, at ease, prepared, and supported before their baby arrives.
I am beyond thrilled to be a co-owner and founder of The Village YXE and to operate my growing private practice out of this space to bring a true community of support together alongside other practitioners. Thank you for letting me be a part of YOUR village! To inquire, please go to www.karliehudon.com/contact or call/email our office to get on the waitlist!

Services for Infants 0-18 Months
Hi! My name is Nikki (she/her), a Speech-Language Pathologist specialized in pediatric feeding and swallowing for almost 20 years. I completed my Bachelor of Arts Honors Degree at the University of Saskatchewan in 1997, and my Master of Speech-Language Pathology Degree at the University of Alberta in 2005. I have worked in a medical (hospital) setting providing feeding and swallowing services my entire career, and for the last 5 years I have provided these services at the Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital in Saskatoon. I am a registered member of the College of Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists of Saskatchewan and certified through Speech and Audiology Canada.
I have two adult children who had feeding challenges as infants, so I have firsthand experience with struggle due to the lack of access to professionals with expertise in feeding in the community. When I realized that feeding and swallowing was a subspecialty in the profession of Speech-Language Pathology there was no looking back, all my efforts in continuing education were put into this area and I have been able to travel and learn from many of the leading experts and pioneers in North America.
I have been so fortunate to work alongside incredibly talented specialists – Pediatricians, Ear, Nose and Throat Specialists, Respirologists, Cardiologists, Neurologists, Surgeons, Dietitians, etc. I’ve worked with thousands of infants and children with a multitude of feeding, swallowing and medical concerns. Feeding is such an important part of overall health and connection so it is completely understandable when families are exhausted and overwhelmed when it breaks down. As a pediatric feeding and swallowing specialist, I am a highly skilled professional that can help families with an individualized and evidence based plan that includes the building blocks for safe, quality, and enjoyable feeding experiences. I am thrilled to be a part of The Village YXE and support families in meeting their feeding goals. To inquire or get on the general SLP feeding waitlist please contact our office by phone or email!
